Oscar Turner

Oscar most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer of Tyler Perry Studios where he was responsible for overseeing business strategy, studio operations, post production, financing and real estate. During his tenure, Tyler Perry Studios produced the feature films MEET THE BROWNS, THE FAMILY THAT PREYS, and MADEA GOES TO JAIL along with multiple seasons of the hit television series HOUSE OF PAYNE and MEET THE BROWNS.

Prior to Tyler Perry Studios, Oscar began his career in entertainment as Vice President of Financial Planning for Paramount Pictures, where his responsibilities included the preparation of all motion picture ultimates and analyzing the financial impact of changes in film slate performance, deal terms, co-financing arrangements, marketing plans, tax driven financing, and production costs. Oscar’’s oversight encompassed many of Paramount’’s most successful releases including TITANIC, SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, WHAT WOMEN WANT, SHAFT, and MISSION IMPOSSIBLE II. Subsequently, he served as Vice President, Corporate Planning for Paramount Pictures where his responsibilities included financial and strategic planning for theatrical exhibition (Famous Players and UCI), music publishing (Famous Music), book publishing (Simon and Schuster), and regional theme parks (Paramount Parks). In this capacity, he also managed worldwide cash planning including the planning for the studio’’s television division which boasted successful series such as FRASIER, GIRLFRIENDS, NCIS, DR. PHIL, and ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT.

Oscar holds a BA in Economics from UCLA and an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School.
